the alarms are low current drain and capable of
stand alone battery power if mains is not available.
Mains
operation is straight forward. Plug in and sit back. The systems
have internal back-up power that will cover mains interruptions for
up to 24 hours.
Battery
operation will require the purchase of a leisure battery rated at
110 amps or above. These are readily available from caravan or boat
supplies and cost around £50.00. Typically they will last around 2
months between charges.
Solar
power. To extend battery life, a simple solar powered system can be
installed fairly cheaply.

Leisure
batteries are used because they can cope with the discharge/charge
rates far better than say a car battery.
If you
are using battery power then it is important to keep them charged,
especially if you have a camera system.
